I was happy/relieved/pleased when the election results came out this morning & Obama had such a definitive victory. I thought I'd be more excited though. I don't know. As long as a Democrat is in the White House, I'm five by five

The only thing that could harshen my squee today was the proposition thing, which I am deeply saddened by. First we had same-sex marriage and now it's been denied? It's utterly ridiculous, IMO, which it sparked somewhat of a mini-debate in my class today. Heh.

But I am overwhelmed and thrilled about Obama. Even with the proposition, having him as our president is filling me with hope, and I am proud to have voted this election. :)

Yeah, it would have been utterly heartbreaking if Prop 8 had passed and McCain/Palin had been elected. Obama doesn't support gay rights as much as we think he should (because it would likely be career suicide D:), but at least he isn't actively trying to strip rights away either.
