[news] heavy on the science fiction

Oct 04, 2008 21:28

I'm kinda worried about the fact that, for the second night in a row, I'm extremely sick to my stomach after finishing supper. It's weird and unpleasant. If there weren't things I need to *ahem* during Happy Hour tonight, I'd probably curl up in bed and watch tv. Instead, I shall try to keep myself from throwing up on the keyboard. :/ Making myself useful:

TV Guide has a few more details about the casting of Mary McDonnell & Melissa George in Grey's Anatomy but there's nothing too juicy & the exact airdate for their first episodes (which is one & the same) is unknown. I'm excited about the chance for Melissa George to go regular. I think she's fantastic & it'd be nice to see her on television once again. (My intense love for Thieves, her shortlived series with John Stamos, is a testament to the fact that I'll like anything of which she's a part. :P)

Monsters & Critics has an interview with Amanda Tapping about Sanctuary. She talked to The Futon Critic as well.

One more interview: this time with USA Today. This is actually my favourite of the three. I had never realised how deliberate of a transformation Amanda went through for Helen. She did everything she could to completely separate Helen from Sam. I've noticed several people (mostly Stargate fans) comment on the drastic difference; it's nice to see the reasoning behind it.

Wired has an article about how Sanctuary went from being a webseries to a proper television show.

Contrary to initial reports/rumours, The Graysons is not being considered as a replacement for Smallville. Smallville's EPs are working 'on a storyline for Clark that allows for seasons of further trials & adventures for our favorite hero'.

JJ Abrams talked to Forbes about Fringe. It's less about the show itself and more about the production side of television.

To promote RTD's new book about Doctor Who, the BBC has made several scripts from season 4 available to download for free as PDFs.

More details about the extras included in the Charmed Complete Series release have been... released.

The effects of the WGA strike are still ever-present and mostly negative. A lot of second-year shows are slumping. Zap2it attributes it to the long interval between new episodes, saying that many of the shows have actually improved in quality.

IO9 implores us to not give up on The Sarah Connor Chronicles just yet.

The complete series of Moonlight is due to be released on January 20th.

Russell Brand will have a Comedy Central special airing next year.
