The answers to this meme! :D

curiositykate gave me Hermione (from Harry Potter). I chose 'three facts about them from my personal canon/fanon'.

• Hermione makes no apologies for being a 'know-it-all'. As a muggle-born, she thought she was at a disadvantage going to school with people who had been raised magically. She doesn't mean to prove that she's better than anyone, just that she's as good as she can be.
• Hermione spent her time at Grimmauld Place (early in HP & the Order of the Phoenix) gaining a healthy respect for (and major crush on) Professor Remus.
• Hermione has not forgotten a single insult that was ever said to her. She doesn't remember them to make herself feel bad, but rather they make her stronger.


fatexsucks gave me Thelma Bates (from Hex). I chose 'a reason he/she is awesomecakes'.

One of the reasons I love Thelma so much is because of how open she is about her sexuality. She makes no apologies for being a lesbian & she gives back insults as good as she gets.

And she also gave me Jaye Tyler (from Wonderfalls). I chose 'a reason he/she sucks'.

I love Jaye, but there is something about her that annoys me. I don't think that her whole 'Ivy-league educated, underachieving retail employee' thing isn't a result of her just not caring, but more a result of her being afraid to try. And I never saw why. She had all those great opportunities in front of her, support from her (somewhat crazy family), & ... I think she gave up before something bad happened. Before the events in Wonderfalls, I don't think anyone had expected something of her for a long time. And I think that's why she did all the things she did, even with the results being so varied. It wasn't that she wasn't afraid, but I think she was just amazed that somebody or something expected something of her.

karenjeane gave me Usagi Tsukino (from Sailormoon). I chose 'five people that character never fell in love with and why'.


• Umino. I think Usagi tolerated him & maybe even liked him a little as a friend, but I don't think she could ever fall in love with him.
• Yuichiro. Even with how flaky Usagi is, I don't think she could fall in love with someone as flaky as him. Also, there's the whole 'he's in love with Rei' thing -- that would just be too much drama for Usagi to want to willingly throw herself into.
• Setsuna. Usagi really, really respects her but I think Setsuna's quiet personality is too different from Usagi's to allow them to be anything other than friends.
• Ami. I think that Ami is Usagi's best friend and that's not something Usagi takes lightly. Usagi would definitely not want to mess that up.
• Hotaru. She's Chibi-usa's friend &, despite her ability to change ages often enough, I think that's enough to squick Usagi permanently.


like_cheap_wine gave me George Lass (from Dead Like Me). I chose 'five things that never happened to that character'.


• George never fell in love. It's not that I think her heart is made of stone, the opposite actually! In the series, George had a few short-term relationships -- they never lasted and I think that she knew they never would. A live person will die. A fellow reaper will disappear one day. George can't give her heart away because she knows that nothing will ever last.
• George never threw away Betty's Polaroids.
• George never told Daisy that she slept with Mason. And George did ... a few times.
• George never told Delores the truth. It's one of her biggest regrets. (Though I think that if Delores were to die in a feline-related accident, George would be assigned to reap her.)
• Once George got flush, she never stiffed Kiffany on a tip. She respects her too much to do that.


owlrain gave me Anya (from Buffy the Vampire Slayer). I chose 'a reason he/she is awesomecakes'.

And it's kinda cheating, because it's a bit like the reason I love Thelma so much. Anya doesn't (usually) censor herself. She's direct and to the point. I didn't always like her (especially during the first few seasons she was on), but I did develop a healthy respect for just how honest she is. You don't get that much with your garden-variety demons. ;)
