*sigh* I don't understand network people.

Veronica Mars gets 3 more episodes. I guess that's good news, but I'm puzzled at the 3 episodes thing -- if it's doing good, why not just order a full season & be done with it for a year? (I'm still watching VM s1, by the way. I'm such a horrid fan. :X)

I think the CW is playing their cards extra close. They probably had a hard time sorting out which shows they were gonna keep from the WB, and wanted to see if fans would follow them to new nights/times. I guess VM's fans are doing so, and they get another three episodes. Of course, I never could get into VM, but I care about Supernatural now. I have the feeling that since I'm now watching it (and actually LIKING it) it's going to be canceled after the current season ends. I HAVE THIS FEELING.

I guess I have to have some sympathy for the CW executives, because they've sure got a mess on their hands. Combining two underrated networks & then hoping that the good stuff rises to the surface. :/ So maybe this is a positive thing, rather than negative. (But still, 3 is such a random number -- unless they're aiming for at least 1/2 a season.)

I've been reading your Supernatural posts & it's really cool to see how into it you're getting. :D I've taken an interest because, for one, you have a good opinion of it. (You're rather like a fandom barometer, in a weird way. If things are good for you, then they're usually good for everyone.)

(I'm trying to decide which brilliant-but-cancelled-tv-show icon to use, because your last sentence is so true. :/ It's odd that really liking a show almost means that it's going to get cancelled because of the masses not getting it like fandom does.)

What gets me about the merger is a lot of black comedy shows were axed. Very few survived the move. It's too bad we can't have a solid black comedy or drama on regular network television. If they'd market one right and not play to boring stereotypes (seriously, the black people I know do not resemble 95% of those I see on TV), they'd get a following from all races ( ... )

I believe VM is the lowest-rated drama on network television, which isn't so good. Presumably, the network folks have been dragging their feet while they waited to see if a) the ratings would improve, or b) they had any midseason shows that might do better. The good news for VM fans is that (b) doesn't seem to be the case, so odds are decent that it will last out the year.

Oh. :/ I thought it was doing better in the ratings than they'd expected. (Too many charts in magazines, too little brainpower to comprehend.)

I think you're right, about it making it to at least the end of the season. (For a totally different reason than any you mentioned ... I just really can't see CW cancelling VM in the network's first year -- you don't want to piss off your fanbase like that. And what little fanbase CW seems to have, I'd wager a good portion of 'em are VM fans.)

What the fuck is the point of ordering first 13 episodes and then extending it by 3?
I know, that's what gets me. It just doesn't seem to make sense. If you have faith in the show to last 3 more episodes, why not have a bit more faith & just give the fans a complete arc/season? (*shakes fist at networks everywhere* Think of the faaaaans!*) Sorry, where was I? ;)

Well, I should probably feel bad ... I've been downloading it since the beginning & still have only seen maybe the first half of s1. (Too many shows, too little attention span.)
