Fandom: Supporting roles, done well, elevate a TV show.
A very nice article about the supporting characters who are essential to a proper television show. Lots of fandoms are mentioned, but the guy has some very nice things to say about 'The Buffy the Vampire Slayer Alumni Society' in particular. :D
Fandom/RL: Marilyn Manson married girlfriend in Ireland.
Okay, I know that this is definitely old news -- but I still can't get over the fact that Eric Szmanda was there. :D
RL: Driver ticketed in carpool lane cites fetus as passenger.
*headdesk* Women like this are the reason that I'm a v. bitter childfree person. If she's already an EB now, I fear for the kind of stuff she'll pull once she pops it out. (Some commenters have suggested that they dismiss the carpool ticket & nail her for not having the 'child' in a car seat. I like that suggestion, if only because the fines for the latter are more expensive.) Found via Feministing.

Okay, I honestly have no idea what/who MXS is -- all I know is that they're paintball-related. I mention the link because of this: August 19-20 - "Battle of Serenity Valley" - Drop Zone Paintball, Lawrence, KS. Inspired by the Unification War from the TV series "Firefly." Ain't that just the coolest thing?
Fandom: What makes a star shine? It takes more than ratings.
Interesting, if short, article that aims to address the question 'why some stars of popular shows [are] white-hot while others live in relative anonymity'. Mentions CSI, Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, Lost, etc.
Fandom: Have you met Ted's best friend?
A TV Guide interview with Jason Segel of HIMYM. He has some very nice things to say about Alyson. (And he was on Alias once. I did not know that.)
Fandom: 7 sci-fi movies for people who don't like sci-fi movies.
A list like this is always handy, but this is especially noteworthy for having Serenity at the top of the list.
