(no subject)
since my last update i got my first dose of my new medicine. as i was getting it, the nurse told me it was a miracle drug. i might just agree with her. i have been feeling better, have a lot more energy. i am able to be running errands all day and not need an afternoon nap to get through the rest of the day. i don't need a two hour nap after work anymore. and i can eat, boy can i eat. have my appetite back and i have had no nausea. the doctor says i definately have many holes in my intestine and hopefully they will close up. after a year of treatment we will reevaluate to see if i need surgery to remove the disease portion and resection.
i have had a very busy week. last saturday eric's friend craig was in town. he is the tour manager for the plain white t's. he used to be in the band divide by zero that was pretty popular around 1999-2003. he was in town because they were playing the TLA on sunday. we met craig and some band members for dinner at fork in old city. i will dream about the food at this place for many months to come. it was delicious. i had fettucine with some kind of garlic butter and pancetta. eric had scallops that were so good....i also ate duck, it was the most delicious meat i have ever tasted. i've had it before, but this time was amazing.
on sunday we took them to the liberty bell and ben franklin's house. we also ate at jim's because they are obsessed with cheesesteaks. eric couldn't go to the show on sunday night so i took his cousin. we had so much fun. it was the first time i had drank in six months. oh how i missed alcohol. his cousin had never been downtown before. i took her on the el, which she had never been on. we got off at 2nd and i walked her all through old city to south street. we picked up our tickets at will call and than we went to fat tuesdays. i had never been there before but i always here good things about the 190 octane. it was a sunday night and pretty early so it wasn't gross in there yet. that drink was worth the 8 bucks. by the time i finished and went to stand up i was very drunk.
at the show we got to sit in the "vip" section. which is really just some stools set upstairs. we climbed over the rope and no one questioned us. we were supposed to be there but i was surprised. the show was pretty good. after craig came out and got us and took us backstage. we got signed photos for eric's little cousins. they ended up inviting us back on their bus. i've been on it before and met them a bunch of times but i am pretty sure jackie was going to pee herself. i can't believe she is 21 and had never been to a show like the TLA or Troc before. she seemed to have a lot of fun, i know i did. our cab ride back was hilarious. i was trying to pay with my credit card and i kept saying "i cant see the thing, do it for me". she had to swipe for me. we made it home by 2:30 and i somehow managed to watch my dvred trueblood episode. granted i was very drunk but i got the gist.
i have already watched it like 5 more times this week. this week at work was so hectic. finishing up room assignments to email out before monday. i did finish all 4 buildings by friday at 4 but not before i already had 5 phone calls about room switches. i'm like already people??? i have more to write about work but that can wait.
saturday i was lazy and than we had eric's cousins graduation party. she has down's, it was also her 21st birthday party. all i can say is that these people know how to throw a party. i love going to eric's family parties. they are always catered and this was open bar!!! it was so much fun, eric's mom was drunk and she laid down on the dance floor during "shout". hahaha.
today i was supposed to go to the phillies game but my arthritis in my feet is killing me. so i stayed home and was lazy while eric went out. he just went to work and i am making macaroni and cheese for dinner. eric leaves for florida on tuesday. he is going to tampa to see the phillies play the rays. he is also meeting up with craig again. they'll be up for 4th of july and we are going to the phillies game. all 16 of us, band, craig, crew, and me and eric. the tailgate should be interesting.
i can't wait for it to stop raining.
