In the past year, I have lost 4 friends in car accidents. This morning, I add 2 more to the list, bringing the total up to 6. It started back in November 2002. My friend Jennifer was in a car accident on the free way (alchohol was involved). The driver hit the center divider and flipped the car and a second car hit them. Jennifer was the only one to die out of the 4 people in the car that she was in. Then 2 months later, David and Sara were coming back from Roseville where they visited Sara's sister (David and Sara were boyfriend and girlfriend) when a truck ran a red light and hit them. The guy driving the truck was drunk and he lived, he wasn't even harmed. Ten days after that accident, Christine was on the free way driving her parents Ford Explorer (the same SUV my mother has) when her tire blew out and the truck rolled and hit the wall. She was in a coma for 15 days before she finally passed away. Then, 6 months went by before this fatal accident happened Saturday night. It was Ma and Ka (boyfriend and girlfriend who were planning on getting married) on Freeport and Florin Road. They were coming back from some dance at Sac City and Ma started to race another car. The other car hit Ma's Prelude and he lost control, rolled, and smashed into a tree. They say that they died instantly, but that wasn't enough. The car burst into flames and the coroner had to use their dental records to identify the bodies. Ka was going to UC Davis and Ma had just gotten back from bootcamp for the Marines. It just happens too often. Ka was the nicest person in the world, she couldn't stand to see anyone unhappy or upset. She had a zest for life that you don't see many people with. Ma was just a happy person, he was always there for anyone. Atleast they died together, they were so in love, it is still hard to believe. I was going to post some pictures from my trip to Six Flags yesterday, but I'm not anymore. Just don't take life for granted, it's too short and the ones that should lead the longest lives are always taken from us.
Edit : I finally found an article on the accident
took them long enough to write one.
