don't be afraid, you've just got your eyes closed

Yet again, it has been far too long since i last posted in this.

I have been in Croatia for a fortnight. It was great.  Much nice weather and scenery.  I got to drive about as well which was really strange, being the opposite way around and all.  Lots of good food.  Cheap beers.  Funny language.

I have started a summer placement as well as working in pizza hut at the weekends, equating in 56 hours of work a week with no days off. bleh.  It's at a building firm that do a lot of work for housing associations and drive all over Scotland to do-up houses.  I have been employed to audit and analyse their waste, energy expendature and transport use to see if there are any areas that they could improve to become more efficient and/or environmentally friendly and at the same time, drive down costs.  So far it's ok, a bit boring, but at the moment i'm just gathering numbers, which involves sifting through piles of invoices.  Hopefully once this bit is done, i can get a bit more creative and hopefully offer them some good advice that they might actually listen to.

I have resit to study for too, which is the last thing i need on top of work.  I suppose it's not till the end of august so if i start now then i should be fine.

It's a bit non-stop at the moment. i feel very busy, and am a bit bummed i've not managed to see half the folk i've wanted to since i've been back.  Hopefully i can make amends to this soon.

Two of my favourite people at pizza hut are leaving/left, which blows.  they were a big laugh so they were.  There are many new people who i can't remember the names of and are all dead young.... well 18-ish. its a bit frightening how i think that this is young now. *woe*

Sweet Chin are getting gigs confirmed which is really cool and the munchkins have some in the pipeline also. I am happy about these facts.  Both may be recording soon, this too excites me.

i am also very happy about sonic youth, biffy clyro and connect festival creeping ever closer!

anyhoo, time to open a maths book i suppose
