Before I get into my real update, I thought I should mention a few things. First, I know that I’m not online very much … what, twice so far? I eventually aim to be online more. I was invited to a chat and well, it turns out that a lot of people don’t like me. Not that it was a surprise, but never a pleasant thing to be told to your face in front of a room full of people. The other problem I had with chat was that it just went so fast, everyone talking about so many things all at once! Must be one of these new age things I just haven’t gotten the hang of yet. Give me time, and I’m sure I’ll come around.
Second, I’m aiming not to have to what I once saw referred to “cheese sandwich journals.” Basically, journals that say “Today I had a cheese sandwich.” Not that I am saying that those are bad journals, it’s just not the kind that I want to write. It is not in my nature to write that way, to simply recount events without accompanying analysis. So if I don’t update that often, I’m probably working on something longer and more in depth, and I didn’t want to just post a note about how my day went. Again, I’m not saying that that people who post everyday with notes about their day are bad or have bad journals; it just isn’t a journal style for me. But I do aim to update at least once a week. Poke me if I don’t (of course, the poking necessitates being online, for which I refer you back to the first paragraph of my entry).
Third, I was going to write an update about movies, seeing as tonight was the Screen Actors Guild awards, but I think I’ll push that back for a later entry, as it would probably make more sense at this point.
Sincerely, Sigmund
- Yes, one of these days I really will make “real” entries, and stop with the metajournaling!
