Beyond annoyed with the girl child

It was pouring rain last night so I left my bike at work and got a ride home. This morning I asked if I could get a lift back if she had time before work. She said yes depending on when I would be ready. I said 15 minutes. Yeah - it’s so rare it shocks me every time. It took her until she was well into her teens before she even spoke back. Given that she has dealt with huge anxiety issues and self harm because she internalizes so much, I am mostly mad at myself for handling it badly when she said she could drive me as I was stomping out the door. She did text me an apology later.

I believe it. I went off at my mother so often as a teen and young adult, and I admit I thought the world revolved around me. Now, more mature, I have regrets about that because I understand her much more. More than I really understand my immature self back then. So you both make peace, OK? :)

Good. My mother and I had a two-year cold silence spell because of mutual resentments and petty fights. None of that matters really; it's the big picture that matters, and that's love.
