Yesterday wasn't a great day in terms of avoiding plastic. First, I bought a box of fundraiser chocolates, only to discover that the cardboard box had individually-wrapped-in-plastic chocolates inside. Second, I walked from the garage to the bus stop (and back at the end of the day) passing several cans, plastic packages for cookies, a Ziploc bag and a few other miscellaneous bits I couldn't identify. I should have picked them up and deposited them in my trash/recycle bins, but I just didn't have the energy and didn't feel much like dumping them into the bag with my purse, yarn, etc. This was the trash the garbage collection folks had missed; imagine what things would be like without garbage collection. Perhaps something like this?
