7 - barbecue sauce (More from Ottawa Kitchens)
13 - La Crème Vichysoise (a potato and leek soup from More from Ottawa Kitchens. It was a recipe from the chef of Government House, more informally known as Rideau Hall)
20 - Island Chicken (don't remember off-hand where I found this recipe, but I have a printed copy and it's a keeper. Geoff asked for it several times)
21 - Osso Bucco (New York Times Cookbook. I was a bit disappointed. I couldn't get the beef as tender as I remembered it from my only previous tasting in Little Italy in New York)
May
5 - black rice and shrimp salad (Nigella Lawson recipe, available on-line. This has lovely Thai flavours)
11 - Bisquick substitute that I then used to make Bacon and Egg Cups (both Betty Crocker, one on-line and one from my old red cookbook), curried turmeric chicken with bell peppers, and scallops and shrimp in coconut milk (another keeper)
18 - pork marinade and mopping sauce (bbqpitboys.com)
25 - creamy greeny nettle soup (not quite so creamy as hoped for, and the nettles tickled my throat with every swallow, but it was a great way to use up weeds)
A&S projects - washed all my remaining wool and started carding it
Other projects - most of a hat :(
Swimming is improving, I finally got back to biking to work in May, and I have started riding lessons again. I also did another belly-dancing course.
