Who; Altair and Athanase
What; Troll slobber
When; a few nights ago
It was just like Altair had said, he had spent the last fifteen to twenty minutes slobbering it up along the windows of the orphanage where Athanase lived. He took on his troll form and licked along. If he had been a different person he would've felt sorry for the people cleaning the windows.
Then again. If he had been a different person he wouldn't have slobbered anywhere to begin with.
Oh well.
He pressed his thick, green fingers against the window of his twin's room when he was done.
Knock. Knock.
Athanase wished he weren't used to that sound. Especially today. He had told Altair that he had better not go slobbering on the windows. Not that he expected him to listen.
And he said he wasn't going to answer but if he didn't, the younger children would be sad about the troll attacking Athanase's window recently and not be able to sleep.
With a huff, he pushed open his curtain and looked out at the ugly troll that was his identical twin. Was he......did he really slobber all over the place? The window pushed open slightly. "What are you doing???" he whispered.
Altair gave him a wide, toothy, smelly smile and poked out his tongue to run it over the window once more.
"I told you I'd come say hello."
Athanase looked nauseous for a moment. That was so disgusting. How could Altair not think that was disgusting. Honestly.
"By licking my window!?" Athanase hardly sounded intimidating with the rasp that remained of his voice, but he tried. "Did you lick the other windows too? I'm going to get in trouble." If not by the orphanage, then by Van. Who was.... quite possibly watching them. Athanase stuck his head a little out of the window to be sure.
Altair laughed, a rumble that sounded like a monster growl than an actual laugh. He looked back at him unsure of what his twin was looking for and then gave a growl, shifting to change into his human shape.
It took a few moments but then he was holding onto the window and swinging inside. "I did lick all the windows."
Athanase didn't really get what he was growling at, but stood out of the way when he shifted back, trying to make sure he didn't get slobber on him in the process. Even though he himself changed shape sometimes, it was still really weird to watch someone turn from a big smelly troll into Altair.
"Why?" he asked, moving his hands along with him. "What if they make me clean them?"
Altair gave his brother a look. "If they try to do that, I'll put them in a bin." he shrugged, "Why would they make you? You don't slobber." it seemed logical enough and besides, Athanase was so defenseless, he just had that raspy voice and that delicate frame... he couldn't hurt a fly.
On his way past his brother, Altair grabbed his hand and smeared a nice portion of troll slobber onto his hand.
"Have a gift~"
"You can't do that..." he replied. Athanase had wanted to say that he couldn't just go around shoving everyone into dustbins, but being as he could only get so many words out before his throat got tired again, he left it at that. "And I don't know why...." He just thought maybe--
Athanase blinked down at his hand in horror. Not because it was slobber but because it was a new substance and he couldn't exactly control his own ability yet. He wheezed and threw his arms up in a failed attempt to stop that thick layer of slobber dripping onto his form. It was like someone just came and dumped a bucket of troll slobber on his head and it was getting all over the place.
"ALTAIR..." he bubbled, trying to wipe a clear path out of his face. HELP. "Gross....gross........gross....." What would this form EVER be helpful for?
Altair stared in fascination as something seemed to be happening to his twin. He seemed to be changing shape? No, that wasn't it... it was like ... the slobber was multiplying and spreading.
He stared.
"Jesus Christ, you're turning into slobber." And then his twin was laughing, laughing hard.
No, really? Athanase glared at his twin, holding his hands out in front of him helplessly. If anyone could actually see his face clearly it might have looked like he was about to cry any moment.
"Not funny..." he said from inside his little slobber cocoon, peeling his shirt off and throwing it at Altair as hard as he could. The bathroom was down the hallway. He threw a finger out to point to the door, throwing Altair spit on the wall in the process. "Make sure no one is there." He had to bathe like five times now.
"You want me to carry you there?" The twin teased but headed ahead of the other anyway to check that the there were no other people in the way. No, it was empty. He glanced back at Altair and gave him a nod. "It's safe to come along."
Now hurry up. He didn't believe people would care if they saw Athanase like that but...
Well a cocoon of slobber was a bit more... accurate
Altair got a glare that said 'This is YOUR fault'. Athanase was sort of sliding along out his door as quickly as possible, dropping slobbery pieces of clothing along the way. And to think he'd been having a hissy fit about naked Altair before.
He practically dived into the bathtub, even if it wasn't even close to being filled with water. He didn't care. Luckily that stuff slid right off but it still felt disgusting. Somehow Altair was always getting him into trouble, but it was kind of funny after all, in the long run.
Athanase was an amusing sort of twin, he said one thing when he really didn't mean it. Or at least it was not as bad as Athanase made it sound. God, he was such a baby at times, but Altair didn't mind. In fact he just continued laughing as he followed his twin into the bathroom and locked the door behind them.
Imagine that.
"So much for not getting naked." He teased taking a place on the side and closing his eyes while his brother splashed about.
Athanase sunk into the water somewhat embarrassedly, scrubbing at his arms. "You would be naked too if.... you turned into ...troll spit". he whispered. Athanase just thought himself to be practical, which was very funny, because his mother had been very obscure.
"So don't lick my windows anymore. It's super gross." He couldn't even tell if it was all off yet or not.
Altair laughed and stuck his hand into the water splashing his brother. "Guess this means it's okay to stop by your window naked." He was joking...maybe.
What he was sure was that he wanted to see Athanase flail.
Athanase was in the process of scrubbing his head with no mercy when he got splashed in the face and heard that. In the only semi-vocal version of 'alksjdflkj', he smacked at the water to splash Altair back. "No!" he said. "You don't know who's watching." Or who might think it was Athanase hanging over his own window...in the nude.
He'd be going to a different government building then.
Altair laughed, just the reaction he had hoped for. God having a twin was more fun than he'd admit. Although he wasn't sure he wanted to tell his parents about Athanase. I mean, what if they wanted to adopt him too?
That'd be weird.
Shaking with more laughter, Altair promised to... do it then.
Being laughed at had never been a great feeling before, but the fact that Altair was the one doing the laughing kind of made it feel...just slightly better. At least he wouldn't have to cry about it.
Athanase was still embarrassed though and just went back to scrubbing his hair with a huff, even though all the slobber had come off a long time ago.
He kind of wondered what Altair's family was like, or if he knew their father maybe. But never felt like asking. Instead, he held his hand out for a towel. "I don't think I'm clean yet..." he said, almost to himself. But he'd get pruny soon.
Altair turned to his twin, still chuckling a bit and passed him a towel. "I think you got most of it out."
For now. Until next time Altair slobbered all over him.
