Some random notes about the last few days -- in other words, things I should've tweeted but forgot to!:
--I am apparently going to be the proud owner of a $89 used Nintendo DS Lite. I say "going to" because it still hasn't hit me that I bought it, even though it's already been shipped. (If you know me well, you know that I avoid spending money on myself a LOT and I never buy anything that expensive.)
The DSi I wanted was already sold (sigh, and it had free shipping) but then Andres and I did some searching and found a pretty good Ice Blue one I liked. Plus, I can actually play my GBA games on it without squinting at a dark GBA screen, huzzah!
And no, I haven't bought any games yet. I'm waiting until after finals because not only do I need time for my wallet to recover, but I also know I will be distracted from EVERYTHING XD My DS should be good incentive to get things done though. Feel free to give me game recommendations, but there are quite a few that I'm already planning to buy at the back of my mind xP
I just hope I'm ready for this level of commitment. What if I'm not ready for my little bundle of joy? What if it becomes too much responsibility? What if I spoil it rotten and start spending all my money on it? What if I ignore my boyfriend too much to pay attention to my new baby? ;_____;...
--STILL Black Friday shopping, surprisingly. Getting a lot of my Christmas shopping done at the same time. I've spent a LOT of money these last few days, and a lot more than I would generally spend on myself, surprisingly. Sans the DS Lite (which was obviously expensive), I bought myself
that cute fox plush I've been eyeing forever,
a phone charm,
a Threadless shirt, and some pretty paper I bought at Blick's. Jeez, self.
--I'm present plotting. I'm present plotting HARD, dammit. Plotting Christmas, Andres's birthday, Valentine's day, and our unofficial anniversary all at the same time. It's really difficult in some senses because I keep forgetting what I'm doing for everybody and every ocassion, haha. I should really make a list but I'm really paranoid that Andres will find it and RUIN ALL OF MY SURPRISES U: But it's actually pretty fun and keeps my mind off of stress, for the most part. I just hope my wallet doesn't hate me at the end of all this...
--
tritodon and
flamongirl13 -- I STILL HAVE LAST YEAR'S CHRISTMAS PRESENTS as well as some other nifty things I've bought for you but have never had the chance to send to you, woops .___.;; I promise that I will try to send those out ASAP for you two, because you've been waiting ages. I love you both so much, really, and I'm sorry for being absolutely awful about going to the post office ;_;
--Thanksgiving at Andres's went relatively well? I had MAJOR anxiety the entire time and I was super shy despite my best efforts to speak. Everyone was really nice to me and his dad LOVED the cheesecake. I'm definitely going to have to try that cheesecake recipe again.
--Speaking of my boyfriend, I miss him really bad even though I spent all day with him today and most of last night. I am a romantic derp .w.
--Went out to tea TWICE today. Went to Tea Rose Garden for lunch (tea sandwiches, gingerbread scone and peach black tea, yum!), and then Chado Tea Room for tea floats and Casablanca tea. God, I AM IN LOVE WITH CHADO TEA ROOM'S CASABLANCA TEA. Green tea with bergamont and Moroccan mint, mmmm. But now I can't tell if I'm tired or wired.
--Baby said that he's gonna buy me a bunch of pens for Christmas to replace all the ones I lost, omigod ;____; I am so touched, you have no idea. It really means so much to me, especially since I've always said I've wanted a bouquet of pens!
--At Blick's they had this wooden barren-looking Christmas tree you could decorate and paint. Is it weird that I feel like buying one and drawing on it with pens? And then decorating it with tinsel and ornaments and such to make up for the lack of Christmas in my house? It's perfectly symbolic, really. I just wish it wasn't $12.
--I had to try really, really hard to resist buying $6 fabric tape, as in WAY overpriced tape made out of cute fabric. It's a lot harder than it sounds for me.
--Trying to plan out next semester's schedule is really hard. Closest I've gotten so far is having all my classes Monday-Wednesday (with the exception of Statistics, which would be MWF), and then work on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Except that means I KNOW I'm gonna get stuck with 5 hour shifts on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Sigh. Hoping to find a better plan, but we'll see.
--Am writing the rest of my language acquisition paper as well as applying for colleges this weekend. Going to only apply for UCs now to make my workload a lot easier, which means I don't have to take Asian American History this winter YAY! I'll only be taking Contemporary Film History, which is a HUGE PLUS because I am so exhausted from this semester. It also means I don't have to be jobless during the winter semester too, because my previous schedule made it impossible for me to have any hours at my job. I am really hoping UCLA and/or Berkeley accept me x:
--To make up for the fact that he went to go see it with his little brother first instead of me, Andres and I are planning on going out to see the Muppet Movie and having a dinner date the next time we see each other. Yay! ♥
--Is it wrong that
cute cosplaying girls are the one thing that make me kind of intrigued with My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic? Actually, wait, please don't answer that. The girls cosplaying Rarity, Rainbow Dash and Applejack are really, really cute .___.
--God dammit, I still smell like a combination of Abercrombie & Fitch (from when Andres insisted on going in there for Black Friday shopping u_u) and my boyfriend, argh. Which sucks too, because the smell makes me miss Andres and I miss him too much to go to sleep. Yes, I am pathetically lovesick sometimes.
--During winter break, I'm planning to make my own 2012 calendar agenda at the back of my journal, including pages with each month as well as weekly entries. I really hope it's not as hard as it sounds. Collecting stickers and scrapbooking things to make it all pretty and such~
