I had a dream last night that Derek and I were hanging out again.
We were just chilling on the couch back at home (All of my dreams are in America now, whereas before I left they all took place in Taiwan. Weird how that happens) with his arm around my shoulders and me resting against his chest. I was telling Bandit about how they sell ridiculously small, fluffy bunnies the size of tennis balls in Taiwan, because they really do. And he was joking with me saying how if he could sell those he WOULD actually sell them as tennis balls, and he imitated how he would sound advertising them in Taiwanese. I tried to pout at him like I usually did when he made bad jokes about animal cruelty and started laughing despite myself, and then said "You're pretty good at Taiwanese" and he said "I got it from you."
and... then I woke up, realizing that in reality, Bandit would never know Taiwanese. He's Japanese, not Taiwanese.
Sometimes, I really miss my best friend. Even the really bad animal cruelty jokes and the times where he tried to eat my boogers.
