Life on Earth

Jun 29, 2012 15:42

A few minutes ago, I was reading the LA Times newspaper (from last Thursday, which is still sitting here on my table, front page with headline "Is foie gras ban force-feeding?") and I found this article interesting because (IMO) it is about several issues which are colliding: freedom, human rights, animal rights, sustainable living, government regulation and (only hinted at... and maybe only in my imagination) the evolution of human society.

With foie gras ban, chefs say state is force-feeding morality
- A law against serving the fatted liver of ducks and geese goes into effect (in LA) on Sunday. As some restaurants host farewell dinners, a gaggle of chefs, farmers and connoisseurs sees it as a feather-headed intrusion on culinary freedom.

I want to share my thoughts on this... but first let me ask you two questions:
- Do you want to share your thoughts on this article?
- Do you want to know my thoughts?

earth, sustainability, liberty, life, freedom
