"Alcohol" by The Barenaked Ladies
(This is my new and improved perspective on alcohol)
Alcohol, my permanent accessory
Alcohol, a party-time necessity
Alcohol, alternative to feeling like yourself
O Alcohol, I still drink to your health
I love you more than I did the week before
I discovered alcohol
Forget the cafe latte, screw the raspberry iced tea
A Malibu and Coke for you, a G&T for me
Alcohol, Your songs resolve like
my life never will
When someone else is picking up the bill
I love you more than I did the week before
I discovered alcohol
O Alcohol, would you please forgive me?
For while I cannot love myself
I'll use something else
I thought that Alcohol was just for those with
nothing else to do
I thought that drinking just to get drunk
was a waste of precious booze
But now I know that there's a time
and there's a place where I can choose
To walk the fine line between
self-control and self-abuse
I love you more than I did the week before
I discovered alcohol
Would you please ignore that you
found me on the floor
Trying on your camisole?
O Alcohol, would you please forgive me?
For while I cannot love myself
I'll use something else.
Would you please forgive me (x2)
Work today was fabulous. Fabulous, I say. Not because I could drowned out the failures in my life or enlighten my monotony with Starcraft Strategy and afternoon plans, but because I spent the afternoon making acquaintances and friends with FOREIGNERS! I swear, I've never been introduced to so much ethnic diversity in my life as I have in eight hours today. My entire crew (minus my supervisor) was from other nations. Taiwan, Belize, Dominica, and the United States (me, DUH!) all made up my team. It was great. We spent most of the day talking about oil, gas economy, exchange rates, ethnic foods, and anything else we could think of. It was great. More great days to come, I'm shore.
I'm working out with Allikat (:D) and playing SC with Mert and Nate tonight...then I'm packing a lunch and going to bed. And thus begins the routine. It's okay though...it makes my weekends special. Oh so special...
