Since you took my heart, i've got a missing part.
It wasn't easy to explain his feelings to her.
Sometimes it pained him so much, he'd lose control of his limbs and shake uncontrollably.
Her smile remained, tattooed in his memories.
They'd pass each other in the hallway and all they could manage was "Hey...". There'd be a smile from her occasionally but he failed to return it.
Regret would build in his heart and the next day he'd try to walk the same hallway in hopes of seeing her again to apologize.
She would never show.
Then he'd give up and return to his usual path.
Seeing her again, the cycle repeated.
Another smile. "I didn't see you yesterday, you okay?" Sympathy perhaps?
He couldn't respond. The pain returned.
The late bell rang, but regardless, the two remained in the hallway. "It's my free, you too?" She pulled him to the side. It wasn't but he stayed.
The need to say something punctured him.
As his mouth opened, her arms wrapped around him, engulfing him with a blanket of warmth.
He returned the embrace, hesitant to hold her in his arms once again, but the comfort of her embrace was dominant.
A sound like a chuckle and sign emerged from her lips. "You still smell good." A outline of her smile pressed through his shirt. She held on tighter.
A tear seeped into his attire.
She grasped his shirt. "I missed you, you know?" A sniffle.
He held her closer to himself, regardless of her tears.
With a hand on her head, slowly stroking, reassuring her.
Another grasping her waist, he opened his mouth to speak.
"I know, I missed you too."
He closed his eyes, letting a tear escape, falling into her hair.
