Well, *that* was exciting
Staggered into work at 5:35, signed in and jumped on the first elevator to open. Didn't think until later that there had been a funny clunking sound. Tried to get off on 13 (yes, my building admits that there can be a 13th floor). The door opened a bit, then closed. Elevator shuddered. Tried opening again. Closed. Got to use the emergency intercom. Elevator couldn't seem to get leveled on the floor. Warned the operator that if the door opened, I was getting OUT. She went away to talk to someone, but then my chance came and I skeedaddled. Morning operations wait for no elevator.
Morning report is off to upper management, haven't gone back to check if the problem was fixed. I think I'm going to walk down today.
