Today I did the test by which they can surmise whether my English is good enough for me to be placed in year 2 directly.
Am I the only one in thinking that 10 sentences Dutch to English, 10 English to Dutch, one text of three short paraghraphs Dutch to English, one English to Dutch, and 10 Dutch sentences to correct spelling- and grammarwise, are somewhat meagre to determine wether I can skip a whole year of higher education?
Oh well. I'm not complaining.
There were also general questions. Including "How do you rate your English skills? Distinguish between hearing, speaking, reading and writing." Wrote down my thoughts, then thought: "Gads, that's going to look completely arrogant. Oh well." So I kept Good, Good, Excellent, and Good.
I didn't do two of the exercises as they were only necessery for those of us who want to enter year 3. Which I don't. Still, we had from 10 to 13:30 and I was finished by 11:15. Including correcting. That freaked me out more than a bit. Especially as no-one else seemed anywhere near finished.
Results in two weeks, hopefully.
