Weekend summary
The very fast summary of my weekend because I need to write papers for my class:
Stops on Saturday:
Castro Uridales (gothic church, cute little pueblo)
Bilbao (In el País Vasco, Museo Guggenheim, went to the theatre to see "Ana in el trópico" (translation of the Pulitzer Prize winning play "Anna in the tropics" by Nilo Cruz, the first latin playwrite to win a Pulitzer), dinner with the cast--one of the actresses is a famous Spanish singer, Lolita)
Stops on Sunday:
San Sebastian (right on the French border, cute little beach pueblo)
Crossed the border into France
San Juan de Luz (had amazing ice cream--Framboise--rasperry)
Biarritz (who´s rugby team had just won the European championship the day before and a town celebration was going on)
So yes, it was a really nice but really exhausting weekend. Its amazing how different the weather is here in Santander, since we´re in the mountains. It was probably 10-15 degrees hotter in all the places we went this weekend.
This week, we have a trip on Thursday to Santillana del mar and the Picos de Europa. Then this weekend, a few of us are going to Burgos. Bought our bus tickets yesterday and someone is calling a Pensión where we want to stay today :) Yay!
