Excerpt from a Prologue
Severed Kingdoms
CRASH! The sound reverberated of the walls and echoed loudly even still over the torrential rain from without. She woke up instantly alert and just as frightened. Somehow she knew something was wrong. It was in the ways the castle settled afterward, the strange eerie silence of something found out that didn't want to be found. The extent of that fear she felt was even more so emphasized by the pounding of metal cleaves upon stone floors and the screams of "THE KING AND QUEEN ARE DEAD!"waifing through her chamber doors.
