I like my job but man, I really wish I was paid more. I'm really struggling with my budget (as in, I've saved virtually no money since starting there) and I have things I want to indulge in but I just don't know how I'm going to afford it. For example, there is a horror masquerade ball happening at AussieCon and I have always dreamed of going to a masquerade ball. But I don't really have the funds to buy a dress and mask for it. Hell, I don't even have the funds for my flights and accommodation for AussieCon.
I earn around $500 a week, with bills totalling around $150 per week, plus $60 for public transport, $30 for petrol, and then just general spending money. Now that I'm seeing Paolo, I'm going out more and even though he pays for most things I'm still miserably broke by the time payday rolls around. It just really, really sucks to be earning less than I was working retail.
And I've got expensive things I need to get done. My car needs some work, I really need to look into getting my wisdom teeth removed, my cats are due for their vaccinations, raaaargh.
I'll get a slight pay increase at the beginning of September, once my trial period is up, but I don't know if it's really going to help much.
