the intimate adventures of an editorial assistant

I am being naughty and posting this at work. But my workload is still quite light at the moment and I'm starting to doze off thanks to oppressive heating. The job is still going well considering my only complaint is that I don't have enough to do. I was supposed to be interviewing Kathryn Stockett (author of The Help) but she is no longer available for interviews. Not too sure what's happening now, might have to speed read some other book and do all of my author research again.

I enjoyed Vincent and the Doctor, the latest episode of Doctor Who to air in Australia. I will be interested to see where the Rory storyline ends up at the end of the season. I'm also curious as to whether Amy will be staying on as his companion for more than one season. I would like to see that, we haven't had a long term one since Rose.

What else... I am trying to work up the courage to ask my boss if she can get me a press pass to World Con (aka Aussie Con) this September. Neil Gaiman is rumoured to be there and I would hope the pass includes access to the Hugo Awards ceremony.

Dinner on the weekend went well. I ended up leaving fairly early though because the parking lot closed at midnight. So when everyone left the restaurant in search of a bar playing the World Cup match I wandered off. That was about 11pm but I am proud to say I wasn't the first to leave.

And yeah. That's it.
