My first week at my new job has gone brilliantly. Everyone has been super friendly and helpful; they've given me timetables and printouts for me to understand my role better.
And it's definitely a busy role! I'm in charge of all online content. This means website content, five e-newsletters per month, online magazine, facebook and twitter pages. I am also writing features for the magazine as well as monthly segments like book trivia. I will also liase with publishing companies to organise promotions and prizes. Lots to do!
The travel has been tolerable. Things seem to be syncing fairly well so I'm not waiting around too long for buses or trains. It takes me about 90min each way.
I'm looking forward to getting on my feet and not relying on others to direct me in each task. I like my desk space and the little kitchen with the kettle that goes "ding!" when it feels like it ("it goes ding! when there's stuff")
Waking up at 5:30am is the only difficult part. Do not want. lol
Today I bought the most AWESOME dress in the history of dresses. It is FABULOUS. It's a 50s inspired dark blue silk dress with a high waist and a zipper at the bust. I also bought a pair of ankle boots to wear with it. I've been invited to a birthday dinner by one of my new uni friends and I want to look my best.
Tonight, after washing my hair, I've tried parting it on the opposite side. It looks good at the moment so I have my fingers crossed it will work. My hair just looks flat and blah when I normally style it.
And my family is utterly pissed. They are so LOUD and DRUNK. I'm attempting to follow suit. When you can't beat em, join em.
