So I am supposed to be in the city right now working on my assignment due next Tuesday. Instead I have spent the morning shopping and am now drinking coffee in my home. I just don't think I'll really get much more work done at the library because I need a computer and there's always fierce competition for them.
I had to go to a work meeting this morning. It was a spontaneous one and they notified us by text. However, it turned out about half the staff didn't get the message so only two of us who weren't working actually showed up. Anyway the meeting was to inform us that Jo is leaving and Trevor and Heike will run the business themselves. Trevor will be head manager and Heike will be assistant. It looks like I'm leaving at the right moment. Trevor has no managerial skills whatsoever and seeing as he will be in charge of what books the store stocks, I won't be surprised if profits plunge. I suspect most of the regular staff will be leaving now.
And as for the shopping, it was necessary. The dress I bought on Saturday broke this morning so I took it to exchange it. Poor girl was new and absolutely useless. It's not fair for them to be left alone when it's their third day. I have to go back tomorrow to get my receipt because the manager needs to fix it. I have the dress and everyone's names so they can't swindle me. Though why they couldn't do a straight exhange sans new receipt seeing as I was getting the same item is beyond me. That's what most places do.
I also had to buy new boots as my well-loved flat ones sprung a leak in the rain yesterday. Wet feet are not condusive to a happy mood. (Okay I bought two pairs of boots but I'm returning one pair tomorrow)
God this stupid assignment is like a thorn in my side. I want to get a Distinction average but this subject is painful. I've resigned myself to making it up and chucking in references like I actually did research it. Considering it's a media theory subject, I don't think it should count.
