Supanova 2010
I have returned from Melbourne, though I wish I was still there. The mini-break has been unanimously voted a success. Jen and I were insane as per usual. The only thing that was missing was the added madness of Caitlin. If the Three Muskateers were together, surely the world would have imploded with awesome. Highlights included:
- Airport security assuming I was drunk before I'd even left Sydney (I'm not drunk, I'm happy!)
- Giant bed of AWESOME
- Hilton receptionist casually mentioning they have boys in a highly suggestive manner
- Finally being somewhere where we were not the geekiest people in the room
- THE INSANE COSTUMES OH MY GOD - There were drag Leias, anime characters, Time Lords, Jedi, Storm Troopers, Blue Cat People, EVERYTHING
- Jen and I weeping with laughter at the insane fans verbally molesting Gareth David Lloyd and James Marsters. We lamented not having a flask to do shots from every time someone said "I love you" or a very awkward "Hiiii..."
- The girl who refused to accept GDL's answer if it was not the answer she wanted. "BUT IT'S A TIME TRAVEL SHOW!"
- Spending obscene amount of money at Melbourne markets
- GETTING ATTACKED BY A FREAKING VELOCIRAPTOR and laughing at the kids being scarred for life
- Yet again weeping with laughter at the insane fans salivating at the James Marsters concert as he sung sexually implicit lyrics reminiscent of Chris Isaac
- Many, many games of Uno
And I just watched the Eleventh Hour, which I quite enjoyed. I'm not a fan of the new credits (including theme song) but I will get used to it. I also experienced an odd, melancholy sensation in my stomach when Matt Smith used Tennant lines like "there's been some cowboys in here." But he was very good and I love the fish custard scene. I think I'm going to become quite fond of Amy Pond.
Tonight I applied for two jobs; a paid internship and an editorial assistant role. I'm more interested in the internship but if I don't get an interview for at least one of them I am going to wither and die.
