Today has been long and filled with last minute purchases, socialising with the family, packing and cheesecake. Can't complain about the cheesecake!
Oh and there was about half an hour in there where I experienced a terrible headache after having a fight with Big W. I went into the plaza this morning and bought another memory card for my camera in case I get snap happy overseas. When I got home I discovered the girl had forgotten to unlock the security lock on the packaging. Seeing as I fly away tomorrow I didn't have time to go back down to Big W just to get the package unlocked so mum, who was in the plaza at the time, was going to buy a new one make sure it was unlocked and then return the locked one at a later date.
However, Big W wasn't going to let me return the locked one because I had removed the Big W security sticker - something I had to do in order to discover the box was still locked. I can understand that being the usual policy but the goddamn box was still LOCKED. In the end I had to call the head manager to get it sorted.
I freaking hate those security locks. They constantly forget to unlock them. It's happened four times now where I've bought something and it's not been unlocked. And it's happened at four different companies: Woolies, Coles, JB Hi Fi and Big W. They are the most useless security devices because you can just break the case with a screwdriver (something I wasn't willing to do as I would then have nothing to store the memory card in) and so many people forget to unlock them.
ANYWAY. Ranting aside, I've had a nice day. Just watched The Boat That Rocked with mum and Aunty Vi. Have packed most things with only my chargers to go in now. Weighed my bag and it's around 15kg which is the amount I'm allowed on my tours. Booyeah.
A little stressed because mum is flying out tomorrow as well and she is notorious for not being organised and I do not want to be running late tomorrow. I don't want the stress of running around like a mad woman. I would rather be there several hours early and chill with a coffee than speeding through check-in.
This time tomorrow I will be halfway between Sydney and Singapore. In total I am flying for 23 hours and 15 minutes to London.
I don't know how often I will post or check my flist so I will goodbye now.
Wish me luck!!!
