Took a day off work today to try and get better. It's really hard for me to take sick days, I can't justify missing a day's worth of pay. But I felt like ass and if I don't recuperate I'll just end up even more sick. So I spent the morning in a coma on the couch with Tux. His whiskers kept tickling my nose.
Have finally paid for my train ticket from London to Edinburgh! It was only 18 pound! Wooh! Yet another thing I don't have to worry about anymore, though I am finding it hard to withdraw from obsessively checking the rail site four times a day.
Also made an appointment to see my sister's homeopath. He's pretty confident he can help me with my nightmares/terrors, which is a relief after most regular doctors shrugging me off. I'm terrified that I will have nightmares while I'm in the UK and it's going to freak everyone else in the hostel out. Screaming in your sleep is not a way to make friends. I'm seeing him on the 25th June and he's asked me to keep a dream diary until then.
Didn't feel like cooking dinner tonight I so had thai take away. Stir fried tofu and vegetables with peanut sauce. Om nom. I asked for the peanut sauce as an extra but I think next time I need to specify I want it on the side.
Urgh my sinus is so congested and my ears keep popping. Have managed to control my asthma though and that's the main thing. Once it flairs up it hangs around all winter and that is not something I want when I'm overseas.
At work, we had a lady try to return some study aids late last year. We don't refund or exchange on study aids [people often photocopy them] and especially not two months after they were purchased and after the exam period. When we refused to refund the books, the lady chucked a tantrum, threw them on the floor and stormed off. We kept the books out the back for a while but when she didn't return we put them back on the shelf. Yesterday, the woman's daughter came into work with the receipt and wanted the books back, nearly six months after her mother left them here. We had the titles on the shelf and Heike gave them back, which surprised me. Normally they aren't the most generous of people. But come on! You left them here for six months! What if no one knew about the incident? There's no proof she left them at our store. *shakes head*
