I really needed that break today. At the moment I don't really get "weekends" at work, my shifts are fairly flexible and I usually only have one day off at a time. At first it didn't bother me but now it's getting a little exhausting. So today for my day off I cancelled my social plans and just chilled out at home. I read for most of it, set up my new mattress that arrived in the morning and watched Sex and the City on television.
I'm eager to test out my new mattress! It's a fairly pricey one and so soft. I'm sitting on it now and I think this is the closest I will get to floating on a cloud.
However, there was a black spot in my relaxing day. My wonderful, adorable strawberry dress is more than likely ruined. It was washed this morning and despite all precautions being taken to ensure its safety, the red dye from the buttons has bled onto the cream material. Woe. Tomorrow night I will try to hand-wash the marks out but I'm not confident it will work.
Despite being Australian, I am really excited about Obama's inauguration in a few hours time. I really want to watch it but it isn't on until 3:30am here and I'll most certainly be asleep at that hour.
