My summer so far!

Yes I should be banned from LJ just for the fact I never seem to post anything. Well My life is quite boring and usually nothing is happening good or bad.

Since the start of July I have been so busy. Every weekend has been filled. First we went to My hubby's sisters place on the 4th to drink, eat and watch their neighbors compete with fireworks. She lives on the water so it was beautiful watching them in the sky and reflect off the water's surface. A few more drinks, some crabs and a hot tub later we barely made it home that night (morning). Next day was spent recooperating.

The following weekend we planned a camping trip from Fri to Sun. Mom calls me at 7:30am on Fri to tell me she is in the hospital. After driving up to meet her there, waiting a few hours for tests and blood work (which wasn't as long as could have been) she was finally diagnosed with ulcerative colitis. Just one more digestive disease on top of the several she already has. I have so much to look forward to! I did get home in time to still pack and go camping but it took my hubby a little while to get motivated. Luckly we were only going a few miles away so we had plently of time to set up before it got too late. We drank, ate, hiked, took pictures, played word games around the campfire and stayed one more night!

The following weekend was Otakon! I got to stay withphotoash  and
sara_tanaquil. Unfortunately gaminette was stuck in France at her crappy job (I really missed you!). We had a blast catching up and exploring the convention. I found some manga I was looking for but the pickings were slim. The artwork I got was amazing this year but alas not enough cash to get everything I wanted. Maybe next year or in NY! We stayed at the Hilton wich wasn't bad nor was it spectacular. photoash  loved that you could walk from the hotel to the convention without ever going outside. I thought that at least all the lamps and outlets should work since the building was less than a year old but hey it was clean. The only real downfall was the security nazi who you had to show your room key to in the evening just to get on the elevator to go to your room. God forbid you invite a friend up to visit a night!

This weekend is my hubby's birthday bash and again we plan on drinking, eating and needing a day to manage the hangover.  I'll write later about the next line up escapades I have planned including a new to me car, another camping trip with the neighbors, a ghost walk, NY Anime festival (My hubby said I can go, YAY! Now I just need to figure out how to get there!) and something eles I'm sure I'm forgetting. Later!

otakon, life
