Why does cable hate me so?

So once again, the local carrier of the CW manages to make my Thursday night entirely uneventful. I got picture (sort-of) and no sound. What Sam and Dean talked about...I only know through reviews I've found online. And as one of those misfortunate souls still living in the dark age of dial-up, either catching up on the episode through YouTube or downloading it through iTunes is a massively time-consuming task. *grumble grumble*
