A Few Good Men

I meant to write about this yesterday, but by the time I got home I was too tired.

On Sunday, my best friend (miss_annthropic) and I went to see the afternoon showing of "A Few Good Men" in Fort Worth. There's a lot I could say about the play, about Jensen, about the whole experience in general, but one word sums it up fairly well: amazing. The play and the entire cast was absolutely amazing.

This was the first professional play that I'd ever been to, and the experience was fantastic! We were on the far left side (from the audience's perspective) in the front row, close enough that we could rest our feet on the stage.

Many of you reading this probably know that my initial reason for seeing the play was because Jensen Ackles (of Supernatural) played one of the main roles. He was, as I expected, nothing short of awesome. That man is incredibly talented (not to mention incredibly attractive). Lou Diamond Phillips, in the role of Jessup, was also stand-out. I really think the entire cast did a great job. As a big fan of comedy, the humorous bits really stood out for me, and everyone was on the mark with their delivery. Likewise, the tension in the serious scenes had me on the edge of my seat. I've only seen the movie version once, so I'm not very knowledgeable on any comparison between the two, but I enjoyed the play more.

We went down to Fort Worth on Saturday and stayed the night and also visited the Fort Worth Zoo Saturday afternoon. It was the first time I'd been to the FW Zoo, so that was a great treat too. It was hot and humid and crowded, but it was a hell of a lot of fun.

In short, it was an awesome weekend.

awesome, theater
