State of the Sierra Address
Hey. I considered posting about stuff in a timely manner as things happened, but then I realized why do that when I can just cram everything that has happened in the past few months / is happening now into one big-ass post. If you're bored, read on. If not, read on and you soon will be.
On Writing:
After the recent stall in Distant Relations I've decided that miss_annthropic had a brilliant idea when she came up with the "don't post until you've at least reached the halfway mark" plan. In future stories I think I will implement this idea so that I don't leave interested readers hanging for months at a time. As for what's going on with Distant Relations the rest of the story is entirely planned out, I just need to figure out whose POV to use for which scenes. I also have the beginnings of a sequel plot forming in my mind, but it's a little too early to jump on that boat just yet. There are also a few one-shots in my head set in the Distant Relations'verse if only I could finish DR.
When I get stuck on DR, I've been working on a Gunn-centered Angel / SPN fic. It's set post-series for Angel and pre-series for SPN with a slight Gunn/Jo tilt to it, more of a pre-Gunn/Jo really. Mostly, I just feel that Gunn is under-represented in the Supernatural crossover category. Plus I just really like his character and wanted to tie up a few loose ends from the Angel finale. And with as much trouble as the Winchester boys get into, I figure it's only a matter of time before Lawyer!Gunn makes an appearance.
In other projects, right about the time I got the idea for DR I was also on a Dark Angel kick and thought the idea of a Dark Angel / Resident Evil crossover was a brilliant idea. Hey, maybe I could call it 'Resident Angel' I should save fic-titling for after I've had a bit more sleep. In any case, I ended up writing the first scene of that last night. So far, I rather like it. I'm such a crossover geek.
A few other fic ideas that are gasping and flailing about like fish out of water:

On Real-Life Crap:
Pretty much since I got my bachelor's, I've been considering get my master's in library science. Well, I've started filling out graduate school applications and soliciting for letters of recommendation. Part of me is hopeful that I'll finally find my niche, the other part is going "More school? Are you nuts?"
This also means I'm going to have to start gearing up for the GRE. Blugh. I hate tests.
In other RL news, I dated someone for almost two months. Let's just say it didn't work out and leave it at that.
On a much cooler note, miss_annthropic and I will be going to a Renaissance Faire next weekend and we always have a blast at those things.
On Red vs. Blue:
When my co-worker recommended that I watch a show that uses the game 'Halo' as a platform, I thought he was nuts, but this is some seriously funny shit. If you ever find yourself bored, look it up on YouTube. Considering what you're currently reading, you might want to go do that right now.
On Music Videos:
I just finished a Buffy/Angel vid to "Everything Changes" by Staind, which I think turned out very well, and I'm about halfway through another Buffy/Angel vid to "Far Away" by Nickelback, which is turning out not-so well.
I want to make all the Buffy/Angel vids I can before I delete the clips to make room for Supernatural clips, so if you have any video requests for the Buffy/Angel pairing, now is the time to make them.
On LJ:
Posting about tonight's (or last night's since today is actually tomorrow now) SPN episode ("All Hell Breaks Loose Pt. 1") made me realize that I don't have enough icons with which to express myself. Not only do I need more icons, but I'm going to need more space in which to put them. Which leads me to the all important question, to be or not to be? Or rather that other important question, whether or not to upgrade to a paid account. It isn't as expensive as I thought it was, so I'm thinking it's a good idea. Especially since I'm using it more now than I used to.
On Seeing Jensen in June:
Need I say more? Probably not, but I'm going to anyway. I'M GOING TO SEE JENSEN ACKLES IN THE THEATER PRODUCTION OF "A FEW GOOD MEN" IN JUNE!!! WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!
And there is my life in a nutshell, folks. Man, I wasn't joking about this being a long-ass post.

- SPN/BtVS A "Buffy and Dean have a kid" fic. I've written the first paragraph, thinking "what the hell am I doing?" the whole time. That one is probably the lowest on the totem pole.
- SPN/Skeleton Key crossover. Chronicles the events leading up to the SPN premiere: The Skeleton Key events being Dean's Hoo Doo gig in New Orleans.
- Some vague ideas for an SPN/Constantine crossover set after 'In My Time of Dying' or 'Crossroad Blues'.
