10 Things I love beginning with the letter D
1. Driving-I love just randomly going places or just driving.
2. Doing nothing. It doesn't happen much, though.
3. DJing at the radio station, but I STILL want to learn to spin!!!
Edited to finish my list and Rae off my back!! ;) J/K. I actually thought of other stuff after your comment! *hugs*
4. Daria. I used to love watching her. I used to get called Daria my senior year of high school for various reasons.
5. DDR. I have a huge addiction to this game, even though I don't get to play it very often.
6. Dragons. I've got loads of them, yin yangs and chinese characters. They just appeal to me for some reason. I'm into the mythical creatures BIG TIME.
7. Dierks Bentley-"Must be doing something right". I LOVE this song. Country or not. It's absolutely great and reminds me of someone who's incredibly awesome. :)
8. Dixie Chicks. They're badasses and they know it. That's what I love. They ended up outcasts because of what they said about the Prez and they didn't care.
9. Dasani. It's the only bottled water I'll drink.
10. Dark Purple. It's my favorite color and one of the prettiest shades.
So my weekend was pretty jampacked. I've finally got a phone again. it's the same number and thank heavens, works just fine. I do have to admit, though, and I told this to Jeanne, too, that I kinda wish I hadn't told everyone I was operational again because the second I did, I literally ended up with 15 texts. Some were good. Others were people complaining about everything they hadn't gotten to complain to me about before and made me feel like I should have the answers too. I realized that this is where a lot of my stress comes from. I've got too many people who expect me to solve their problems and when I try to come up with ideas to help them with their problems, I'm told (with less than logical reasons)why it won't work and basically that I need to shut up because I don't know what I'm talking about. If I don't know what I'm talking about, don't ask me for advice and don't complain to me about it. I'm not going to apologize for not being able to fix your life or make your life so much better. You know what you did to fuck it up. You know what you did to put yourself in the bind you've got yourself in. Hinting to me that you want me to fix it isn't going to work. Get over yourself. I've pretty much reaslized that in order for me to chill out, the way to do it is to say, "Okay, look, you want advice? Here's what I'd do. Don't like that for whatever reason? Sorry. I tried. Try another friend. Maybe they can do better." I don't claim to have the answers. I don't claim to even try to answer everything. It just really grates on my nerves when people act like it's YOUR fault their life is in turmoil. I'm trying to handle mine, thanks. Handle yours and we'll be good.
Okay, I'm done with that rant. Anyway, back to the weekend. The weekend without the phone was wonderful and Jeanne and Sarah will be happy to know that when my dumbass finally decides to come up to Sioux Falls, the phone is going to be limited because I enjoy having fun without the trouble of all kinds of phone calls or texts in the middle of having a blast. I'm loosening the tether between myself and my phone. Nat was right when she told me I was addicted to my phone. It's true. I am. And something needs to be done about that.
I go back to work tomorrow at the high school and I don't have long to get Student Council in gear on our Homecoming. Ugh! We don't have permission for our dance. We don't have our DJ. We don't have our days picked. We don't have hardly anything done and when I was trying to get it in gear with the kids the other day, I was pulled out of the meeting and my co-advisor did jack diddly to keep the kids on track. We're so behind!! I can't wait for the 21st to roll around. I'll be great when it's done and overwith.
I've gotten a new prescription and FINALLY got my contacts renewed, too! YAY! I'm getting a different brand because my other kind just sucked and I couldn't take it anymore. My eye doctor referred to them as "relics". Nice. Great. Just give me the new ones and let's call it good, okay?
I have some time to chill out, so I think I'm gonna go do that. Ciao, guys! :)
