Had my first taste of Summer Nationals yesterday, and managed to get rid of some of my nervousness. Part of me wishes my event WASN'T on the last day, but at the same time I don't think it would make any difference.
Anyway, it was loud and crazy and confusing, but I stuck around the wheelchair events mostly since a clubmate of mine was doing wheelchair foil and saber. She was great =)
Also bought thingies -- a briefcase with "Summer Nationals" on it (I needed some kind of professional briefcase, and it's nifty), and a cool blue sweatshirt with all the 2009 SN stuff all over it, and on the back are the names of ALL the fencers (last names A-L) on it. Tiny print, but my name's on there, and most of my club too. Fits great, and the color is oh so pretty blue.
Next couple of years are going to be weird for me -- thinking of putting off grad school again in favor of doing JET program. Friends out there who've participated: tell me about it? Is it worth it? Will I have any free time (because I want to fence while I'm there...)?
