After an incredibly tight race, Wellington has a new mayor: Celia Wade-Brown of the Green Party. She's the third woman to hold the post since 1992.
Meanwhile, here in the borough of Tower Hamlets, the campaign for the first
directly elected mayor continues. The election is on Thursday 21 October and there are five candidates:
Neil King (Conservative)
Helal Abbas (Labour)
John Griffiths (Liberal Democrats)
Alan Duffell (Green Party)
Lutfur Rahman (Independent)
Five men. Is that the best we can do?
