Dundee photosOn Sunday we stayed with Kiwis in the city of
Dundee, which is about an hour or so north of Edinburgh. I didn't see much of the city itself as Hugh and Angela live in a village-like suburb close to the waterfront, but I understand there isn't a huge amount to see. The beach was picturesque but bloody freezing so we skipped the walk in favour of hunting for warm food instead. There was a small castle too, a proper one without windows on the ground floor (I’m looking at you,
Larnach Castle).
The
Discovery, Scott’s Antarctic expedition ship in 1901-1904, lies in Dundee Harbour. Wingnut visited tall ship, Wingnut happy. While he was doing that, I kept the baby Bunyip entertained, inside, in the warm, so I was happy too.
I definitely want to go back and see more of Scotland. “Come back, but come back in summer,” said Hugh, pretty much repeating what Martine and Chris had said. They might have a point there. :-)
