The last image he had was his desperate expression, telegraphing resolve mixed with tremulous fear while the lethal flood of water hurtled down that pipe with a murderous roar. It burned white-hot in Lincoln’s memory and he knew he’d never forget it.
is exactly what I had in mind but couldn't put into words. You Lincoln girls write him so well, do you know that? So well.
What a lovely tribute to Brad Bellick, and what a nice exposition of Linc's thoughts. Thank you very much, I enjoyed it immensely. *hugs fic*

I'm so glad you enjoyed this - I rewatched that scene with Lincoln and Brad in the pipe earlier today and it was just as raw and heart-breaking as ever. RIP, Brad.

Nice one Sarah. Very melancholy but keeping it real. I love the last paragraph about how history may judge Brad. Good point well made.

Glad you enjoyed this angsty little outing; I seem to keep dwelling on the angst every time I write lately! I think I need to fic something happy next, lol.
One thing I hope TPTB manage to do is give Lincoln something GOOD to be happy about, I want him to have peace in his life, finally. *fingers crossed*

Thanks so much for helping me out with this, Maureen - and also for your generous praise; for the record, I miss the feel and atmosphere of S1 a little too. I hope Lincoln gets a good ending from the writers, please God. He deserves it after everything he's been through!

This was poetic prose, and just another reminder of how much the world is lacking by not having more fic by you, my dear. Thanks for finding the time in your busy schedule. I do so appreciate it.

OMG, exactly. I couldn't have put it better myself, Candy!
I'm so happy you enjoyed this and I hope your birthday was fab! You are so wonderful to write lovely things about my fic - I need to make a more conscious effort to find the time to write; I have to tell you it felt so good to be creative like that. I really missed it. And you are more than welcome for the fic, darling! We Lincoln girls need to stick together!
