Art: spn_j2_bigbang "Vertigo" (Jared/Jensen, G)
My first post EVER for the spn_j2_bigbang! :D I'm kicking it off with art for namichan89's beautiful J2 story Vertigo.

Summary: They say that when you die, your life flashes before your eyes and you relive every moment of it. A near-death experience leaves Jared with an epiphany about Jensen, a mess to work through with him and their wives, and the realization that even five years after the show ended, there's still a supernatural touch to their lifes. Because that second chance? No one just gets something like it handed to them by a strange woman showing up in their back yard.

Discovery
The first scene that struck me visually. The morning after...when Jared discovers Jensen has passed away.
Solitude
The reaper was originally front and center in this piece, but it didn't feel right. I wanted Jared's solitude to be the focal point.
I added the reaper later for a brief cameo in the animated gif (top piece).

Painting miniatures is too much fun :P
Bonus Cover Art
I didn't feel up to drawing the road trip in the style above, but since it was naminchan's hometown, I wanted to capture it in some sort of art :)
Early Sketches/Outlines
I drew the bed scene pretty much down to the detail, while I painted the landscape more on the fly.
This isn't entirely accurate, but it gives you an idea of the progression.
