What About BFF & ALSE?
Hey Everybody!!! Just wanted to check in and give you guys a vague update on my future writing plans. I’ve mentioned this in comments here and there, but since folks keep asking, I decided to make an actual post about it to get the message out.
I feel very guilty and bad for starting AKL and leaving BFF and ALSE hanging, as I know many of you were invested in those stories and enjoying reading them. I had ideas that AKL would be a small story that I could update between the bigger, more serious chapters of BFF and ALSE, but it soon took on a larger life of its own, and my plan fell apart. My brain can only manufacture so many stories at once, and trying * and failing * to keep up was killing me.
Since AKL was the busiest story in my head, I decided to put all of my efforts into completing it first. I have crested the top of my story arc, and feel like I might be able to wrap it up in a few weeks. I’m hoping to be done by early September, but no promises there. I’m not going to short change it, so I’ll write until it’s done.
Once I get done with AKL, I’ll go back and read the others to find the place in my head where I left off, and resume writing them. I’ll be sure to write a brief recap for anyone who needs some help getting back into the story.
Please don’t worry that my other occasional writings are going to derail everything. Even though I’m very devoted to AKL, I still need to write something else every now and then. I only care about Jack and Ennis these days, so I can’t write OTHER stuff, so I write one-shots, etc, that I may or may not tinker with more on bad AKL days later on. I need to write, like you need to breathe and eat! When I can’t write, I get terribly depressed, but some days the story just isn’t turned on and I can’t force it, so I need something else to distract me. Hence a one-shot. Also, I would like to participate in some of the contests, etc, like the Comment Ficathon (which I totally screwed up with Goin’ Fishin’, but there you go........) so sometimes I’m going to write other things.
Please don’t feel that that I’m cheating ALSE & BFF while I’m writing my one-shots, etc. Regardless of what I do in my spare time, I’m not going back to them until I’m done with AKL because of the mental energy that’s going to require.
Ok, I hope this covers the issue for everyone. I really appreciate that you like and miss ALSE & BFF. I miss them too and I feel guilty and bad for letting this happen. I will be sure and announce when AKL is done and they are about to reactivate, so that if you want to go back and refresh, you’ll have time.
