New fic ready to read at Goodreads

I wish i could say i've finished something here, but that's just not the case. Instead, i have non-fanfic, OC story that's just now come available on Goodreads in case anyone would like to check it out. You have to join the M/M Romance group to access it, but that's not hard. Thank you so much for taking the time and making the effort to read, when I know it wasn’t easy for you. I’m so glad that you enjoyed the story and that it was a bright spot for you when you were sad and dealing with your mom’s heartbreak. My mom was in deep depression for about a year after my dad passed. She still misses him every minute of every day, but she’s been able to get back into the swing of life again, and we’ve been traveling and having a lot of fun. We’re going to Charleston SC in a couple of weeks to see Christmas lights, shop, gain weight, etc!! I know that’ll be a good time. We just got back from 10 days in Maine and that was a blast. We go on senior trips organized by the center on aging in her county. I like it because we go on a bus and I don’t have nearly the responsibility as when it’s just us on the road!
Back to my story: I’m glad you liked it. The main complaint I got on Goodreads was that folks wanted it to be longer. They wanted to know what happened next. Many were really annoyed with the abrupt ending!! I’m trying to get into writing an epilogue from Deacon’s pov, which will give more insight into the rape itself, and then into them moving from being in love to being in a relationship. We’ll see how that goes. I’ve got a few hundred words down finally, so it’s got a better chance of happening than it did last week!!
I retired in January of this year, and my life just exploded all around me. All the things I didn’t have time for before, suddenly became options, and instead of just doing a couple, I did them all. I’m hoping that as wintertime closes in, I’ll have more time to focus on my writing again. I have several half-done stories here that I’d like to finish, for me (and any lingering readers here) as well as possibly to submit for publication. Again, we’ll see how that goes.

Thank you, I knew you will understand what I'm going through....

Taking time to read your story wasn't any hardship, on the contrary ! and coming to LJ was the easy part of my day, the one that relaxes me and helps me be better for the next day - keeping up with my boys, the Js, and the authors that I love, kept me sane ;o)

I really envy you for your retirement and so much free time !! According to the laws here, I have 20 more years to work until I get to enjoy that time... I have to figure out a way to do it in at least 10 !

Anyway, an idea: there are a few writers that published, like you, and then they took their fanfictions, changed the names and polished them a little (if they thought it was needed) and published those too ! And that because their fanfictions were so, so beautiful !! more people than the fandom deserved to read them !
