Please Help, I Have More Questions
As most of you guys probably already know, i'm doing some light fiction writing for publication at Dreamspinner Press. Bailey, Jenna and Lori are doing it too.
I am - apparently - the only one who can't write more than a chapter without help and input from the FList. Here are today's questions.
1. No one listens to records or albums anymore. If you are a musician and just cut a new album, would you just refer to it as a CD?
“He said he’s fine too. He just finished cuttin’ a new album so he’s pumped as shit about that. Gonna be doing some small shows this spring, nothing big, but after the CD comes out this summer, he’s got some big stuff lined up.”
2. If Jack Twist was a country music singer, and his first name was still Jack but his last name wasn't Twist, what would it be?
3. If Ennis's name wasn't Ennis, but he was still pretty much BFF Ennis, what would his name be? I'm thinking Jesse Delaney maybe? But i haven't thought about it too much yet.
4. This is what i'm writing:
A wedding day is full of magic, whether you're the groom, the best man, a friend, or a bystander, and the love in the air is impossible to resist. We are looking for stories that give us a glimpse of that love - established couples or love at first sight, wedding bells or engagements, or something inexplicable that makes you think "I do." The details are up to you.
Length: 5,000 - 18,000 words (manuscripts shorter or longer will be considered but will have to be extraordinary)
Submission Deadline: March 15, 2009

This is a similar deal to the Christmas story i did a few months ago. They are going to publish, via email, one story per month for the entire month of June. How fun. I've been trying to write orig fic but it's really hard, so i've decided to write a BFF AU. I don't really expect you guys to spend your money on my stories, but at the same time, i feel bad posting them when the DSP folks are publishing them to make money as well, so it's a conundrum for me. We'll just pretend like this is a big excerpt for the Wedding Story Block to tease ya'll in.
Since i'm writing this as a Jack/Ennis story, with plans to go back and change the names later, and since it's a BFF AU, which is Ya'll's story, I'm gonna post it on my Bbmbottomboy LJ, where i keep things all locked up. Therefore, it will just be my tried and true peeps reading it.

I won't be posting most of my DSP stories like this, but it only seems right to post this one, since i'm writing it as J/E first. It's totally AU, however, so if that messes with your head, esp. since it's an offshoot of BFF, don't worry about reading it. Here's the scoop in a nutshell: Grant doesn't exist, Kendall's still alive and he and Eric are together and have adopted 2 little girls, Ennis and his dad aren't tight like they were in BFF altho he and his mom are still close. Joe and Shawn are married with a kid. Joe is E's best friend and Shawn has adopted E since he refuses to date or have a social life without her forcing the issue. When the story starts, it's 8 years after high school and Nick and Lizzy are FINALLY fixing to get married. Jack is a country music star and he and Ennis haven't spoken in years.
The word window on this story is 5K - 18K words. (For ref, Sid401K said BFF was over 400K words. Yikes!) I've only got about 1300 words written so far. I'm not sure if i'll post it in chapters or as a done deal. I am on a deadline, so whatever i decide to do, it will happen soon.
If you do read, please be extra vigilent for typos and anything that doesn't make sense. This isn't like fanfic where i just write whatever and you have to deal with it. I really, really, really want hard feedback on my DSP stories.
I'm sick - again grrrrr - and that's why i haven't gotten busy with the Q/A for LB. That's work, because i'm going to go back thru comments and pull out some questions to address initially. Writing this is easy, and i really need easy right now. Please excuse me for a bit while i feel sorry for myself and wallow in my snotty tissues. (until Archie eats them. Ewwwwwwwww!)
The good news is, WE WON!! Tammy's Back!!! Yayayayayayayayyayayayayayayayay! BOOOOOO on folks trying to rain on our happy parade.
