It seems to get off the rails for a bit. But I don't think that was a misstep of the writers, but more a depiction of her missteps. She's a bit like Korra. She makes a lot of mistakes, but learns from them, and learns to let in people who can help her. And the fights drain her. But JJ is much darker -- solving a problem doesn't make the underlying self-loathing go away. You can't fix a drunk. It's too bad she's not a junkie because apparently junkies can detox overnight in the Marvel Universe.
I think I was expecting actual detective episodes with the Purple Man back story. I liked it, but I'm glad it's over. Watching the psychological terror of an abusive relationship is draining. It's a long season for pretty much the one storyline.

The friendship between Jess and Trish was pretty much my favorite thing. Also Malcom, overnight detox notwithstanding! I had some issues with the remaining twin and her whipping up the survivors group to go attack Jessica...very little of that made sense to me.
