Not the ideal way to ring in the new year

Jan 01, 2009 15:25

So last night, after Bemo and I had spent a quiet evening watching all three That's Entertainment! movies on TCM, had gotten into bed, and were just about to turn off the lights (it was in the neighborhood of two am), my cell phone rang.

I assumed it was my sister drunk-dialing me, frankly. But I scooped up my cell phone and discovered it was my boss. Uh-oh.

Now, our museum is rectangular in shape. The two long sides are where the enterances are, and they're mostly glass - two stories of glaass that show off our big atrium/Great Hall space.

Turns out, some little fuckwads decided to celebrate the turning of the year by picking up some loose bricks from a nearby water main repair, and heave four of them through one side of our windows. There was glass everywhere. I got home at five am-ish, after we got some artwork in the Great Hall secured.

Reader, I am cranky.
