I just annihilated my root music directory by "upgrading" to iTunes 4.8! >.< The 493 songs I had in my library have vanished. I've tried restoring. I've tried Undelete software. Nada! I can't believe I did this. The only song I have right now on my hard drive is the one Maui sent me an hour ago. *sighs* I must hate myself.

How did iTunes delete them? Accidentally say yes to deleting the physical file when you deleted the song from within iTunes?

Yeah. Personally I get very careful when I screw around with iTunes. I back up all my files before I let it whack my stash of mp3s.
