U'ra'bres ("oo-ra-bres" -- short 'e' as in 'breast'): She-Flows-Between

Ouroboros, literally. The sea that wrapped the world, resting between the north and south continents, and the serpentine spirit that represented it.

Where Neptune (Ne-tu'na) was the Sea in the Sky, here was the Sea Between. Massive trade, much fishing... not much wider than the Mediterranean is on Earth, but long, several thousand miles long (and then turning to mostly sea on the other side of the planet). There were islands irregularly scattered throughout, remnants of the continental split. Earthquakes happened regularly, some volcanic activity (in two bands between the continents as well as north on the west side and south on the east), and large waves (tsunamis, actually, but not intensely large ones in most places) were occasional tectonic phenomena. It was an active region the whole length.

d. language, dragons
