Summary: Virginia and Sano have both been going through some rough times, and Virginia asked big brother Sano to lend her an ear for a while.

He'd been training in the woods, on the far side of the settlement, but it didn't take Sanosuke as long as he'd expected to reach the beach. He slowed to a stop as he came to the meeting point, leaning on his spear as he looked around for Virginia.
It had been a little while since they'd last spoken, and it hadn't been an easy time for either of them--Virginia saying things had been better was a sign she was pretty down, and Sano was barely feeling like himself at all with Heisuke gone. Still, he had extensive experience at putting on a brave face, helping others with their problems first, and smiling until it started to feel natural again. Shifting his weight a little as he waited, he wiped the sweat from his brow with the back of his sleeve.
