If there was one thing that Goku could be swayed by, it was food. The youngster almost always found himself hungry, even after a good meal, but for some reason at the moment he couldn't remember quite why; just that there was a reason. And if there was one teacher he could seem to count on as a seeming reservoir of delicious treats, it was Ginpachi- his favorite teacher. Not only did he seem to get away with just about anything in that class, but it was one of the few that he actually seemed to do well in. He wasn't sure if it was because it was easier to understand, or if maybe it was just easier than his other classes; but whatever it was, basically saved his butt ( ... )

Gintoki pretty much almost fell out of his chair at the sudden entrance from the kid. The man jumped a little in his seat at the loud voice booming so freaking close to him. He was forced to grip against the edge of the desk to steady himself a little and calm down before the freelancer turned to the boy, smiling sincerely in return. Everytime he saw the boy, he just couldn't help but feel a little lighter than before - maybe it was just something in the kid, but whenever he saw the youngster it simply just brightened his day just like that, and Gintoki really didn't know why. But it was a good feeling, nevertheless.

"Hey there, kiddo," he greeted back warmly, hand almost automatically going to ruffle up the boy's hair affectionately - mindful to avoid messing the diadem around his head, of course. "Glad to see you're still as cheerful as ever," he chuckled out a little, but still smiling anyway before asking gently. "How was your day today now?"

Goku dropped his heavy yet effortlessly towed-around book bag to the ground inside the door, squinting his eyes slightly when his hair was ruffled. "Ah! Uh, 'm good I guess! Hehehehe, looks like my banana peel trick worked awesome!" he grinned, before remembering his scolding for it- "But... I guess it wasn't such a great idea in retrospect. Ah well, I'll come up with something better.." He shrugged, pouting just slightly about having gotten caught and cleaning it up. "Uh, you didn't get in trouble or anything, didja?" The monkey asked. He would definitely feel guilty if someone other than him got the axe for his trick, and especially if it was Ginpachi.

"Anyway, classes were boring as usual... I slept through math I think," Goku scritched behind his head, plopping himself down at a desk right in front of Ginpachi's. "Uhhh... how were your classes?"

The freelancer only chuckled slightly at the youngster - ah, if only he could have been a child again; as troubling as his childhood was, those were the days after all... Gintoki's warm smile continued to stick on his face, true and sincere as he patted the kid on the head once more before withdrawing his hand. "Ahahaha... no, not really. Just make sure your pranks don't hurt people next time, alright?" Well, he was in some form of trouble. What with a none-too gentle chide from Sebastian and a somewhat stern warning (was it even a warning? Gintoki could never tell) from that vice-principal about his teaching habits, it was obvious that his laid-back style was the cause of great discussion. The natural perm never really paid any mind though - in the end, this wasn't really real after all ( ... )

Hanging over the back of a chair, Goku frowned slightly. "Well.. didn't mean to hurt anybody- though, 'guess I gotta remember to be careful who I pull stuff on; shoudn't have pulled that on the blind guy, that's just mean." With a sigh, he kicked his legs along the side of the chair, apparnetly blissfully unaware of the fact that all of this was a big illusionary mind screw cooked up by omnipotent owls ( ... )

Gintoki couldn't help but simply laugh at the antics of the youngster, already feeling a lot better than he was earlier. Well, he was sure Toshirou - wherever he was - would be fine and nothing really much would happen now. After all, they had only started recovering from that recent war... the freelancer wasn't really much in his 'teacher mindset' right now; he was pretty much himself, but then again it was hardly different from the other, although the jumbled memories were a bit of a problem from time to time ( ... )

"Y-yeah, I will... I'll hafta make myself more... uh.. inconspicuous? I think that was the word," Goku nodded to himself. "Gotta not get caught. I'll have to move like a... a... A ninja!" he grinned, stuffing candy into his mouth still, and somehow managing not to choke on it as he spoke through mouthfuls. "I guess I could get better grades, but.. I guess I just don't feel like it's worth it, or something. I just don't wanna," he shrugged. "Especially when it's like, really hard! Like math," he nodded.

The chibi-chimp watched Ginpachi stand, and scooched out from the desk to tag along after him. He noticed the other bag of candy, but was still working on the first. That would be fine though, since at this rate he would be done with them by the time they reached the ice cream tree. "A-ah, coming!" He called after Ginpachi, pushing the chair back in and grabbing his bag to haul over his shoulder. "Okay! ICe cream, here we come!" He cheered.

There was another laugh from Gintoki at the ninja comment, now distinctly reminded of Susumu - who was currently rather... under the weather. The man could only guess that he had been hit by the curse too. "Maybe so, but you still gotta put in some effort, at least to make your grades look better," he chuckled out quietly as he opened the door and exited the room, waiting for the monkey boy to come out before he closed the door and locked it securely (just to prevent anything from getting stolen).

Chuckling again, the natural perm only smiled and ruffled the kid's hair once more before he started to head out of the building, knowing that Goku would be following him anyway. Sometimes he swore that the kid only knew nothing but playing pranks and his stomach - kind of like Kagura in a way, only possibly less vicious (hopefully) and more... well, adorable. "Don't fall behind now, kid."

"Yeaaah... I guess so," the monkey sighed, resigned to his fate. Trotting along behind the older teacher, Goku sighed and pondered his fate as a student. Surely he couldn't be the worst student, at least- so maybe, if he did just a little better..

"Oi, Ginpachi-sensei?" The monkey toddled along after him as they left the school building, a few strides back at the most at any given time. "What kinda student were you? Did you suck as hardcore as I did?" They seemed to be, at times, birds of a feather; maybe Ginpachi had also been at this point? All the while, the boy stuffed more candy into his mouth.

(OOC: rofl, the 'less vicious' part made me cringe in irony 8D;;)

The man paused a little at the question, turning back to glance at the kid. Well, it was certain that Gintoki was no bright mind himself back in his days - he wasn't the worst, but he wasn't very capable in terms of studying either. Always he either copied off Katsura (Takasugi if he was lucky enough) or otherwise somehow managed to scrape through. Even until now, the man was rather surprised at how he had managed to pull through then...

"Eh..." he started off, unsure as to how to put it properly, "Well... I wasn't really very good at studying myself either - like you, I was always sleeping at the back of the class," he chuckled again at that, "I wasn't very motivated to study myself, but I did anyway because I had nothing else better to do, so..." the man shrugged a little, turning back and continuing to walk, "I only pretty much started to really study at the end, anyway."

[OOC: Ahahaha, yeah. AND TRILLIAN IS EPICALLY SCREWING UP ON ME, I DUNNO WHY BUT I CAN'T LOG ON NOW. TT______TT]

Goku 'hmm'd, "So in other words, you sucked as bad as I do?" Completely innocent in tone as blunt as his words were, the monkey pondered. "Well, if you were still able to become a teacher though after bein' like that, I guess I'm not so bad off after all?" He wondered aloud, and through mouthfuls of sweets. He apparently didn't realize the possibly-cruel impact of his words.

Now that they were out of the building and passing through the 'town', Goku began to glance every now and then at a passing bird or butterfly, or something along a road. Suddenly, he couldn't help but shake a strange sense of de ja vu, or a feeling like things were a bit off, but he pushed it aside, regarding it as just a random and spontaneous thought. At this point, he was already halfway through the bag of candy.

At those words, Gintoki completely froze in his tracks - and if anyone was seeing his face right now (he was hiding it from Goku, obviously), it would be dripping with cold sweat. Well... it was true that the former samurai did suck in his studies, but it really wasn't something he wanted anyone to know, really... "A-Ah, well... its all in the passion, kid. Its all in the passion. If you've got the drive and the will, then I'm sure you can, ahahaaha..." Gintoki tried to laugh the matter off, though he was sure it failed pretty badly as they started to walk again ( ... )

Along with that strange feeling of something being not-quite-right, Goku also got a strange feeling that the town looked different somehow- however he brushed that off as well and continued on after Ginpachi. "Ahhh, so you did suck huh? Well... drive, huh?" Goku stared at the ground as he walked in thought. "I guess.. I could try putting a little more into it.." He sighed, almost finished with the bag of candy. "Maybe if it was about something more fun, like candy!" the monkey gave a sagely nod and wadded up the empty candy bag, now trash. Apparently he missed the teacher's moment of awkward ( ... )

Gintoki could only do nothing but laugh rather nervously again, awkwardly scratching the back of his head. "Well... it doesn't hurt to try now, does it? Ahahaha..." Yes, he was feeling really awkward right now with these kind of questions. Granted, he wasn't the best but still... it was kind of embarrassing in the end when he was discussing about these sort of things. Then there was another chuckle at the next remark. "Well, I'm not too sure if classes can be as fun as candy now, kiddo..."

He smiled a little to himself at the sight of Goku skipping towards the forest, obviously drooling at the scent of the tasty treats. Gintoki laughed as he only gently tugged the kid by his monkey tail. "Now now Goku, control yourself or there'll be nothing left fo everyone else now," he said with great amusement as he went to keep the kid's endless hunger in check.

Goku trotted into the forest happily, weaving between the trees at first, before making a leap upwards. Catching onto a branch, he swung himself about it before leaping to the next tree, catching branches and swinging as he went- just like a monkey. Sniffing at the air again, he would occasionally switch directions, trying to find the right direction they should go in. "Hey, Ginpachi-sensei, does the ice cream tree have lotsa flavors? Are there other trees with more flavors?" he asked, his stomach growling in anticipation despite his having just demolished a bag of candy. "'cuz that would be so cool! Or maybe a toppings tree... I wonder if I could make a sundae?"

Looking back to the teacher, the monkey gave a grin, and then he got an idea as he continued hopping easily through the trees... Waiting til Ginpachi looked away for a moment, he suddenly vanished.

He watched as the monkey leaped onto the trees and couldn't help but chuckle a little yet again. Honestly, you would have expected no less... Gintoki scratched his head at the question, trying to summon up back his memories when he had been turned into a nine-year-old - that was the first and last time he had went to the tree after all. "Well, the tree I know has all sorts of flavors on them, but I guess there might be other trees with different ones too, you never know." Sieben was such an unexpected place, after all.

The man looked at Goku swinging in the canopy for a while more before he glanced sideways for a bit, wondering if Shiroi might be around... would make things all the more fun and entertaining, possibly. He smiled a little, turning back to call out to the kid - and then paused when he realized that the youngster was suddenly gone from his sight.

Quickly the man started to call out, hoping that he wasn't attacked by some wild beast. "Oy, kid! Come on now, wherever you are!"
