Little bastard. It served him right for insulting Grell to his face. After leaving Ishida on the field, Grell had started moving for the fighters he was supposed to take care of. Something about this battle reeked of being used, but then Grell was used to that. He'd followed Madam Red's instructions, giving her alibis, killing as she ordered, everything. It was rare that a death god lowered himself to the position of servant for a mortal, but then Madam Red hadn't been a normal human.
Now, he was serving another and this time, the master seemed to have a great deal more power. Twirling the Hibou feather between two fingers, Grell whistled as he moved across the fields toward the forest. As he walked, shades and shadows of past warriors - people who he'd killed on his job, people he'd seen in the cinematic records of countless dead and dying, people perhaps familiar to the ones hiding just out of sight - sprang up at his feet, falling into line. His army; granted by Kuro, summoned by him. He'd show his "boss" why he shouldn't have been scolded.
Stuffing the feather into his pocket, Grell stopped just short of the treeline, impatiently flapping his wings. The shadows gathered behind him, lining up row after row as they waited for his signal. Clicking his tongue at the state of things, the death god turned his attention to the trees and shouted, "Well? Are you there or not?!"
